First off, we need to remind everyone that the lakes are not safe. Please use extreme caution on First Connecticut Lake and Lake Francis. We want everyone to be safe. Please do not put yourselves and our emergency personnel in danger.
The Burg made out very well with Thursday’s snowstorm dumping between 9 inches to over a foot of beautiful snow. Now all of our trail system has great snow cover and great conditions.
Our Pisten Bully’s were out Thursday and Friday night taking care of business packing and grooming all of the trails. The groomer drivers are spending New Year’s Eve with family & friends and they will be out grooming again on Sunday, New Year’s night.
A Snow Storm is a Brewing…. just in time!!
Our groomers were on the trails last night and found the trails to be in good shape despite the rain and warm temperatures.
Our temperatures have started dropping, and it is now 32 degrees and snowing lightly.

“All 4 of our Pisten Bully fleet were out Monday night into this morning making improvements to the trail system.
The northern tier seems to have fared very well after the bad weather on Sunday. Great to Excellent Conditions exist.
Mid system is Fair to Good, and south of Back Lake is Fair. The Malvina loop has been groomed!!! Excellent snow cover.
The trail south of Back Lake to Pittsburg Village has been packed and cleared of blow downs. There was significant tornado damage in the Spooner Hill area which the trail crew should finish clearing today.
The Burg’s Snowmobile Trails opened last Saturday, and we picked up another 3 to 8 inches of snow on Sunday night into Monday morning. The groomers have been out just about daily packing trails, clearing trails of blow downs and filling water bars. The trails are shaping up very good, and the cold temps for Thursday will help freeze some of the problem areas.
