This will be the last trail conditions update for the Pittsburg Ridge Runners snowmobile club for the 2019-2020 season.
Groomers were out working their magic on Monday and Wednesday night. Reports back said that most all of our trails are in great to excellent condition where we have adequate snow cover. The groomers weather permitting will be heading out again in a team of 2 on Saturday and Sunday unsure of when they will be running whether it will be daytime or night that would be temperature dependent.
Hopefully anybody that still is coming to visit our area is taking precautions in preventing the spread of the crisis at hand.
everyone is pretty well aware there are no restaurants open for eat-in dining but many are open for takeout orders by phone.
Just a few facts that I figured I could pass along from over this season,
Current to date we have burned just over 18,000 gallons of diesel fuel this season alone. That’s not $18,000 you read it correctly 18000 gallons! we managed to use up more than three-quarters of our alloted grant in aid hours for the season despite such a complete roller coaster of a winter. it seems that every Tuesday it rained and was warm, and every Friday it also rained and we had high winds knocking trees over.
Despite bad weather and everything else that goes along with it our team of groomer operators work tirelessly through the winter to keep the trails in the best possible shape that we could and rapidly repair breakdowns out on the trail system when the machinery couldn’t be brought back to the shop without repair.
