Trail Report – Wednesday, January 8th, 2025

by | Jan 8, 2025 | Club News, Trail Reports, What We're Talking About

The weather has been staying cold which is beneficial to our trail system. Yesterday we received 4-6” of mountain flurries with greater amounts in the higher elevations. 80% of the trail system is open with the best riding from Back Lake north with good to great trail conditions.

Trails in the south section are open with marginal conditions. The gusty winds continue creating some pretty cool drifting in many spots. Speaking of the winds, it creates a couple situations that we all need to be aware of – blows snow off the crown (middle) of the road and creates a bare spot or blows the snow all into a pile creating a snow drift. These drifts can become fairly big and very solid so please be aware of these potential situations as you are out enjoying all the beautiful scenery Mother Nature has created for us, it is truly magical out there so go have fun – be safe.

The attached map shows the present situation of our trail system.
