Trail Report- Sunday, January 12th

by | Jan 12, 2020 | Club News, Trail Reports

Good morning, it’s Sunday January 12th.
We have been hit with very warm temperatures wind, fog and heavy rains at this time we have received close to 2 in of rain.

The trails in the black shaded area on the Ridge Runners trail system at this point are currently closed due to lack of snow,, or standing water or flooded areas.

Trails above the shaded area at this time are open but are to be perceived as having limited snow, icy conditions and possibly flooded ditches culverts and standing water.

At this time we are unable to go out and assess anything as it continues to rain heavily.

The temperatures are predicted to drop rapidly this afternoon which should ease up the flooding within the next 24 hours.

At this time there is no grooming happening until further notice. We are hoping that in the next 48 hours that we can get out there move any down trees and assess the damages and see what is left.
Please respect the trail closures for your own safety and also protect the club and its landowners.

At this point pretty much any riding to be had will have to be done by hauling on trailers to the East Inlet / Deer Mountain / Magalloway parking areas.

I will post another update as soon as we have better news as to what we are finding once we can get out to assess the situation.

As for conditions and trail closures in the adjoining clubs in our area as of right now I haven’t heard any updates please check their local websites for postings.”
Kevin Lassonde grooming coordinator PRRSC.
