“We did experience rain and freezing rain yesterday, but in my opinion it really didn’t hurt us.
After Grooming Sunday night for 13 hours my observations were this:
local area snow was consistency of corn meal, which as a snow expert means all the sharp edges of each flake are worn off which causes them to no longer bind or stick together.
So again, the rain we got could only add in good moisture which is now followed by below zero temperatures for the next few nights to freeze all the corn meal into a fabulous corn bread that will be flat ,hard and make for excellent conditions before the busy upcoming reciprocal weekend.
Groomers are back out in force this evening and will be as long as the cold weather holds on, hopefully all weekend.
It’s going to be a busy place here again this weekend, please everyone ride carefully, be responsible, respectful of others and the land and most of all have fun and enjoy what the great north woods has to offer!!”
Respectfully submitted, Kevin Lassonde grooming coordinator.
