Greetings Snowmobilers,
As we move towards the winter season, the club has started working on getting the trails ready for another great season. Most of the trail work will be accomplished during the next two months.
We anticipate the work to repair trails 143 and 136 that were damaged due to logging last year will commence soon. This should restore trail 143 between trail 137 and 112 (Magalloway).
Concrete was poured in the underpass below Route 3. This will make travel much better and prevent rocks from washing into the underpass from Perry Stream during high water conditions.
TRAIL CHANGES -We received notice from one of our landowners that he and others are closing the section of Corridor 20 that includes the bridge over Indian Stream in protest of the Northern Pass project which is planning a utility corridor through Northern NH.  Therefore we will not have access to Corridor Trail 20 below Indian Stream Road, and we will have to use trail 128 through Clarksville or trail 21 to 21A to access Stewartstown and Canaan. Logging continues on Indian Stream Road in the north. The trail closures will remain the same as last year. We will still have access to the Melvina Loop via Corridor 20 as it is before the Indian Stream closure.
What we’ve been up to:
  • We held our landowner/volunteer dinner on October 3rd at the Spa Restaurant in West Stewartstown. There were approximately 30 people in attendance. The meal was delicious and the conversation lively. We hope to continue this event yearly to thank all those who make our trails possible.
  • Several of our Club members worked at the Pittsburg Ridge Runners booth at the Grass Drags on Columbus Day Weekend selling raffle tickets and clothing. Thanks to everyone that volunteered your time and thanks to all that stopped by to say hello.

UP COMING EVENTS:

Monthly Meeting, Thursday  the 12th at 7:30pm at the club house.
CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR, Saturday, November 28th, Helga and her helpers have been working very hard again this year gathering lots of great items for the Craft Fair, and there will be a full house of local crafters too. Let’s try to buy local for the holidays. We’d like to send out a big Thank You to all businesses and individuals that have been very generous again this year. All proceeds from the Craft Fair go to Easter Seals Camp Snomo, and last year the club donated over $2,500. The Craft fair is held at the club house from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
SNOWMOBILE SAFETY COURSE
Tuesday, December 29th, 8:00am to 3:00pm
The Pittsburg Ridge Runners will again be conducting a Snowmobile Safety Course. The one day course will be held on Saturday, December 29th at the Ridge Runners’ Clubhouse on Dickson Lane. Registration will begin at 8:00am and the course last to about 3:00pm. Space is limited. The course is free and lunch will be provided by the club. Students should bring warm outerwear and a helmet. A parent must attend with their child. You must be 12 years of age before April 1st, 2015 to attend the course. If you have any questions, please call Bev at 538-1142 or Sue at 538-9611.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Bob and Sue Gaudette are planning on hosting the Warming Hut again this winter but they need  volunteers to help out each Saturday and also to run the Hut for a couple of Saturdays to give them a few days off. They want to do a little sledding themselves. If you are interested in helping out at the Hut, please contact Bob at; [email protected]m
It would be great if we could create a list of volunteers for each event so in future years we could plan on that list of volunteers being available. Please help out. It takes a village to keep the Club going strong.

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving,
From all of us at the Clubhouse
